Our clubs and associations produce all kinds of events in addition to the Student Union. You can find the full community event calendar on TREY’s website here. It’s wise also to follow your own subject association as well as clubs that interest you to get more information. There’s an unlimited amount of different kinds of events from study groups and sports to culture and parties. Do try out events from different clubs and you may find a completely new hobby for yourself!
TREY’s biggest yearly events
Newcomers’ Orienteering 27 August 2025
Newcomers’ Orienteering is a checkpoint orienteering that takes over the whole Tampere city centre at the beginning of the academic year! Teams made up of freshers and new exchange students go around checkpoints organised by the associations, performing a variety of tasks from poetry reading to obstacle courses. The teams with the highest scores and best costumes are rewarded after the orienteering at the afterparty. The afterparty will also have an artist straight from the front row of the Finnish pop scene!
Team enrollment to Newcomers’ Orienteering begins in Kide.app already in August, so keep your eyes open during your orientation weeks! More info of Newcomers’ Orienteering will be updated to TREY’s website.

TREY’s 7th Anniversary celebrations (October 2025)
TREY celebrates its seventh anniversary in October. This year, the festivities are in the form of an academic tableparty. Take part in the night of our anniversary which includes a dinner, some program and an afterparty. On the next day, the bravest celebrators turn up to the sillis to enjoy food, drinks and chill activities. The Biggest Wappu in Finland (April-May 2026)
The students’ academic year usually culminates between April and May in a two-week Wappu. During that time, the Student Union and student associations organise over a 130 events for all students! There is something for every taste!
Kollektiivi
Within the student union, there is also a separate event section called Kollektiivi! Kollektiivi organizes many events during the year, such as an overall badge market on the different campuses or a thrilling city adventure. You can identify members of Kollektiivi from the kiwi bird plushie hanging on their overalls. Kollektiivi communicates through TREYs social media, so stay tuned!
Do you want to get your own kiwi? Do you want to produce events? Feel free to talk and get to know more about Kollektiivi by chatting with its members when you see them around. Kollektiivi’s recruitment is organised in December and more information is available on TREY’s social media.
